Once upon a time, Elizabeth decided she would create an AI girlfriend.
She will discuss the findings from this experiment and dive into the nature of human and AI relationships, addressing the challenges of loneliness and rejection and exploring how these factors shape our modern world. She encountered many surprising insights and emotional discoveries during the experiment, questioning whether AI companions serve as a comforting solace or merely a symptom of deeper societal issues. As well as leaving with a greater appreciation of the possibilities that AI offers humanity, her talk will invite reflection on the complexities of human-AI connection, authenticity, and the evolving role of this technology in our lives.

Elizabeth is an AI entrepreneur and founder of Wombat, a pioneering startup transforming communication channels with cutting-edge AI solutions. She also leads an AI education initiative, empowering businesses to build real-world AI applications holistically. By combining practical demonstrations with strategic insight, she enables organisations to embrace emerging technologies and drive meaningful change.
Elizabeth started her career in design and UX working both in-house and within agencies before arriving at the point where she started her own business. She’s had some notable career diversions including as an airline pilot transferring transplant organs around Europe. She now lives in a bit of Spain where English isn’t the first language and is a proud member of The Cloud Appreciation Society.
