Elpie believes organizations are made up of groups of amazing people trying to achieve great things. Often great things are achieved through sheer hard-work and determination; sometimes the potential within the business isn’t realised.
Within organisations some people have leadership responsibilities and some demonstrate leadership behaviours – ideally these overlap! Whether through positional or personal power, leaders have opportunity to have a hugely positive impact on the success of organizations due to the behaviours they demonstrate and the culture they nurture resulting in sustained business growth.
In this talk, Elpie will share insights gained through her experience of working in organisations large and small and invite you to consider some important questions as you lead your respective organizations from startup to scale-up.

Elpie Bannister
Senior Director, People & Leadership, Arm
Elpie works to align people and business strategy to enable growth on an individual and organisational level. She has seen first-hand how organisations gain competitive advantage through building individual and organisational agility and resilience in a high-engagement, high-trust culture. Elpie has worked as a senior leader across multiple industries (including hi-tech/semiconductor, legal, telecoms, retail banking) for over 20 years.
Elpie rejoined Arm to focus on various aspects of building leadership capability. Prior to rejoining Arm, Elpie was heading up the Talent Team in Simprints, a non-profit tech start-up which is scaling up and continuing to have global impact. She spoke about her experience of hiring at BoS 2019 in what has become a seminal talk. Previously, as Director of Organizational Effectiveness at Arm, Elpie spent over 10 years enabling the company population to grow by 5x whilst maintaining its values-driven culture.
Elpie has expertise covering Talent Management, Learning and Development, Mergers and Acquisitions, Employee Engagement and Organization Development. She has a BA(Hons) in Human Resources, is CIPD qualified and has a Diploma in Organization Development. She is also qualified in a range of psychometric profiling tools.
