In a playful twist on the divine, mathematician John Littlewood proposed that a miracle occurs every 35 days, defined as events with a one-in-a-million chance. While it might sound miraculous to see a bald eagle riding a tortoise or catching all green lights on your way to the dentist, Littlewood’s calculations were tongue-in-cheek. He aimed to debunk the idea of miracles by highlighting how often unlikely events actually occur.
