Roadmaps get the blame for over-promising and either delivering late or delivering underwhelming results (or both). In this hands-on masterclass, legendary product leader, Bruce McCarthy, walks you through his process for establishing your product’s vision, prioritising with business objectives, validating themes, gaining buy-in across stakeholders, and maximising your team’s impact.
Based on Bruce’s best-selling new book “Product Roadmaps Relaunched: Setting Product Direction While Embracing Uncertainty”, you will learn why this approach to roadmapping works and how you can relaunch roadmapping in your organisation.
Reformulated and enhanced for virtual group learning, Bruce’s roadmaps masterclass will now happen online! Quicker, sleeker, and organized into modules ideal for online interaction.
We will meet in four 2-hour sessions over 4 consecutive business days. Before each session attendees will be assigned a few short videos introducing the concepts we will use in that session. You’ll also have one or two quick pre-work assignments.
Session 1: 2-4pm UK time, Thursday 26th March
Session 2: 2-4pm UK time, Friday 27th March
Session 3: 2-4pm UK time, Monday 30th March
Session 4: 2-4pm UK time, Tuesday 31st March
We’ll use our time online each day to break into virtual work teams using Zoom Breakout Rooms and Google Docs to collaborate on a product roadmap as a team. Teams will post their work online for feedback and encouragement from Bruce and from the larger group.
There will be plenty of time for group discussion, Q&A, and a dash of humour — even some arts and crafts!
You’ll take away a completed roadmap for a fictitious product, a set of reusable templates for roadmapping and prioritization, new teammates, and confidence in your roadmap-building abilities.
Each participating individual or team will also have the opportunity to book a 1:1 consultation with Bruce after the masterclass to review your real product roadmap, get feedback and tips, and ask your burning questions.
