Heather and Jason will discuss the evolution of WP Engine to become a global business with over 1,000 employees, 100,000 customers (including Business of Software) and over 2/3 of the WP hosting market.
WP Engine is headquartered in Austin TX with offices in the US, Ireland, UK and Australia. Jason invited Heather to be CEO in 2015 and took on the role of founder/CTO, a move that he credits with being pivotal to the growth of the company and to reigniting his passion for life. The company has raised significant capital to expand and grow its services and customer base. They will share their experiences of crafting a company with a powerful and diverse culture, how their executive team has evolved and how they approached the challenges of global growth.

Heather Brunner

Heather Brunner has steered WP Engine to hyper-growth and global expansion with offices in Austin, San Antonio, San Francisco, London, Limerick and Brisbane. She studied economics before starting a career in tech that has spanned 3 decades. She has helped create billions in value and drove customer success and business strategy for companies including Bazaarvoice, Coremetrics, Trilogy, Oracle and Accenture. Heather was EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2017 Central Texas Award for Technology and serves on the Board of the Entrepreneurs Foundation.
Jason Cohen
Founder & CTO, WP Engine
Jason has built four software startups, both bootstrapped and funded, alone and with co-founders. All of them grew to more than $1m annual revenue. He sold two, and currently serves as CTO of the fourth, WPEngine. More recently, he has also been an angel investor and was a founding member of Capital Factory, an Austin incubator and co-working space. He writes about software and startups at ASmartBear.
