Lesson 1: Embrace Vulnerability and Acknowledge Your Weaknesses

Bill began his talk by sharing a personal story about his recent diagnosis of vasovagal syncope, a condition that causes fainting spells due to stress. He emphasized the importance of acknowledging and sharing our weaknesses, as it helps us connect with others and create a supportive environment.

“A lot of times as founders, we don’t talk about the things. We love to talk about the good things, but we don’t share where we’re weak. We don’t talk about the bad things. We don’t talk about the mistakes we’ve made along the journey.”

“At breakfast, I felt my stress level go up, I felt it coming on. I tolf my breakfast buddies. They were very cordial and appreciative and handled it very well. They handled everything normally I went through that. And boom, I came back.”
