Originally trained as musician (composition, classical piano) Sean has 15 patents to his name and has worked as free-lance game inventor, with games published by Ravensburger Germany and Parker Brothers US.
With a focus on visualizing business processes in combination with usability design he helps companies make the right decisions, long before the first line of code has been written!
An “END-USER ADVOCATE” Sean McGuire’s main concern is with protecting the interests of end-users to ensure they’re not harassed by business decisions, thus ensuring business owners will get the promised ROI for a project. He believes companies still don’t understand the enormous damage and cost resulting from building software end-users hate.
Design Origami – 3D Journey Mapping
Design Origami is a 3D version of a journey map that provides a methodology for modelling and understanding complex business interactions, before designing better solutions. The approach is particularly powerful for understanding complex software products.
Using an example all workshop participants will have experienced as customers, you will learn how to model physical and digital user journeys using everyday objects to model and understand how users experience complex products. You will then learn some of the tools you can use to improve these experiences.
You will work to model your own user experiences using the methodology and start to improve your own products. You can see the output of a similar workshop held in 2017 here.
You will leave with a clear understanding of the key principles of the methodology and some ideas to bring back to the office.
