Bernhard has designed service and product experiences for brands in industry, media, insurances and gaming for 18 years. His mission is to help organizations to create services with value for people by design.
His work as a designer is rooted in his education as a psychologist where he studied anthropology and human ethology. Bernhard’s approach to working with organizations encompasses understanding the problem space, iterative discovery, prototyping and extensive validation of crafted ideas. He believes in the power of visual storytelling to get everybody on board.

Design Origami is a 3D version of a journey map that provides a methodology for modelling and understanding complex business interactions, before designing better solutions. The approach is particularly powerful for understanding complex software products.
Using Business of Software Conference as an example that all workshop participants know as customers, you will learn how to model physical and digital user journeys using everyday objects to model and understand how users experience complex products. You will then learn some of the tools you can use to improve these experiences.
Participants will then work to model their own user experiences using the methodology and start to improve their own products. They will leave with a clear understanding of the key principles of the methodology and some ideas to bring back to the office to put to work straight away.
